grow your own world…little life things i do — planting intention.
so i am obviously and unapologetically a sucker for words. words are freedom. for me, words are air. essential in my world for fruitful existence. second is growing things- i upgraded myself to human growing about two years ago ((mom boss life)) but before that it was a plant based life. i grew up elbows deep in soil, and quickly learned an appreciation for “dirt therapy”. there is something very calming and also poetic about planting, growing, sowing.
so naturally i add words to my dirt. say what?!?!?
i had been gifted some polished word stones once upon a time. i was like “awwww” and then i was like “okay now what?”. so i decided that in each plant, i would plant more than roots, i would plant words. i would grow something more than green. i would plant, grow, sow intention.
pictures are below ::: sometimes the words are right on top to remind me of what i am taking time to nurture. other times, i bury my words in the soil. i have found it mends to bury words i need to rid myself of as well. i have planted HURT before. i buried it and then i only gave light (sunlight that is) to HEALING. figuratively and literally. i only see HEALING and i know that my HURT is essentially below the soil level helping to stabilize my new focus. i have also written on tiny scraps of paper what i needed to use as food for growth and buried in dirt. it doesn’t eliminate my experience but it certainly helps me frame it differently. those thoughts, those words are with my roots growing a better, bigger me.
my daughter ((Love Lily)) and i have planted FAITH. i cherish watching her play in dirt and grow plants … and herself. we water FAITH together.
its a big life y’all, give light to your best intention. don’t feed the icky stuff. focus only on growth. stand tall, grip deep and reach up. find the light for the things you need to nurture. grow from your own dirt.
